How payment protection works

When the brand's payment is collected, when it's released to you, and what happens if something goes wrong.

The short version

When you accept an offer, the brand's payment is secured through Stripe and held until the work is approved. Each deliverable has its own share of the payment, released to you when the brand approves it. If the brand doesn't respond to a draft, it's approved automatically after 7 days.

When the money is collected

For a direct offer, the brand's card is charged when you accept, and the money is held. For a campaign offer, the brand's card was authorized for their budget when they sent their offers: when you accept, your share is reserved from that authorization, and the card is charged once the brand's offers close or their budget is filled. The deal page shows how much is held for you at each point.

When it's released

Each deliverable is paid separately. When the brand approves a deliverable, its share goes to your bank through Stripe, minus covari's 5% fee. You don't wait for the whole deal to finish.

If the brand doesn't respond to a submitted draft, it's approved automatically after 7 days and you're paid. covari emails the brand 4 days and 1 day before that happens. This applies to drafts submitted from 25 September 2026; earlier drafts are reviewed by our team.

If you haven't connected a bank yet, the payout waits and goes out once you connect one in Settings → Billing.

What you pay

covari takes 5% of each payment you receive. The deal page and every offer show the amount after the fee, so the number you see is the number you get. There's nothing else to pay.

If something goes wrong

  • The brand asks for changes. That's part of the normal flow: they leave written feedback and you resubmit. Each deliverable includes a set number of revisions, shown in the agreement.
  • A deliverable is overdue, or was approved automatically and there's a problem. Either side can file a dispute from the deal page. The payment stays held while our team reviews it.
  • Anything else. Email support@covari.co.
